Access depths

"Access depth" is defined as the depth at which an exploration well intercepts the target reservoir. If this depth is below the hydrocarbon-water contact you will not make a discovery even if the prospect "works" in every other respect.  Access depth introduces a new sort of risk. Access depth can be defined for each prospect. See Prospect - access depth for more detail.

Use access depth

 

A check box allowing you to easily disable use of any access depths - convenient to see the effect of them

The consolidation entry. Only eligible entries are shown - it must be a proper prospect, using area/depth as GRV input.

Depth

 

The access depth. This can be quite independent of any access depth deined for hte prospect (but of course you can retrieve it, if there is one, using "Get access depths" below. You can leave this entry blank - access chance is set to 100%

Top & base contour

 

The top and base contour level for the prospect.

Access chance

 

Access chance associated with the access depth

 

 

 

Get access depths

 

Get any access depth entered for each input prospect

Clear all depths

 

Remove all access depths from the table.

 

The results

When using access depths the consolidation summary shows a "Chance of success". This includes any access chance for an individual entry. Without access depth the chance is described as "Geological chance GPOS".
